Since it’s a better for you spread, feel free to slather it on, I know I did. The Honey Mustard flavor was the perfect pairing with the salty bacon and sweet apples on this sandwich. They contain 75% less fat than mayo and all three varieties are vegan, kosher, gluten-free, and non-dairy. Staying true to what Sabra is known for, these spreads are all made with hummus. I’ve been using all of them over the past few weeks and love the added flavor they give to sandwiches. They come in three flavors, Honey Mustard, Garlic Herb and Sea Salt & Cracked Pepper. This is the first line of refrigerated sandwich spreads from Sabra and will be available in the deli section at the store. Sabra just came out with a line of spreads and I couldn’t have been more thrilled to try them and use the Honey Mustard flavor on these Cheddar, Bacon, Chicken, Apple Sandwiches! While lots of people just slap on some mayo, I want something with more flavor on mine. Every sandwich needs some sort of spread on it, in my opinion. The apples add a nice sweetness to the sandwich and are a match made in heaven with cheddar cheese and salty bacon. For the most part this is a year-round cheesy, bacony, darn good sandwich! However, to give it that hint of fall I decided to sauté some gorgeous honeycrisp apples I saw at the store. To ease my way into fall, I’m making transitional recipes like these Cheddar, Bacon, Chicken, Apple Sandwiches with Honey Mustard Spread. As you can see I’m torn between these two seasons, my two favorite seasons. I’m sad that peaches, berries and all the summer produce will soon be gone, but I’m excited to start creating recipes with all the winter squash, apples and pears. I hate seeing the green leave the trees, but the yellows, reds and oranges are stunning. I’m not loving starting my runs in the dark, but I do love watching the sunrise when I’m out there. I’ve been embracing fall half-heartedly the last couple weeks. I still can’t believe fall starts this week and we’re already three weeks into September. Luckily everything was back to normal by Thursday and I was able to enjoy the last weekend of summer. I was running an average 15-30 seconds slower than usual and pretty much enjoyed nothing about the runs except being finished. Of course the lack of food made running a disaster. Nothing is more frustrating then your brain telling you it’s hungry and your stomach telling you “no thanks”. Most of last week was spent with stomach issues, no appetite and low energy. These hearty Cheddar, Bacon, Chicken, Apple Sandwiches with Honey Mustard Spread will easily become your new favorite comfort food sandwich!Īfter spending a good part of last week not feeling well I’m looking forward to this new week. I don’t recommend freezing salads with mayo, they just don’t fare that well when you thaw them out. If you have leftover salad, you can refrigerate it for 3 to 4 days. Use your imagination, and you’ll come up with ways to make turkey salad into something that is anything but “plain old.” Roasted garlic and chives are a great addition! Or try bacon crumbles!.Grapes are my fave, there is something about the sweetness that is delightful against the savory Dijon and onions. Try it with fruit like grapes, chopped apples, or even plain raisins, if you want something different than cranberries.Use toasted almonds or other favorite nuts in place of pecans if you wish. But this recipe is so versatile you can mix it up any way you choose. So I thought I’d try making turkey salad with dried cranberries and pecans, and it’s officially one of those things everyone looks forward to having in the evening after a big Thanksgiving luncheon. I remember when putting cranberry sauce and/or stuffing on turkey sandwiches became a thing. Mix all ingredients together (per recipe below) and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. It’s so simple I can make this without even having to shake myself out of my yearly tryptophan coma! It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3 to pull this together, and it’s great to scoop onto a green salad, use for lettuce wraps, or make into sandwiches. The best part of Thanksgiving dinner is leftovers, and I mean leftover turkey, of course! There are so many wonderful things to make from leftovers, like turkey stock or turkey rolls, soups and sandwiches. I know you are going to love this easy recipe for Turkey Salad! It’s so simple to make but it has an unexpected twist…it has pecans, and it’s made with cranberries for tang and nutty crunch! This is the best twist on a classic chicken salad and a turkey sandwich you’ll crave!
